SALT LAKE CITY - Several incoming Utah baseball players have earned honors from their previous teams and had strong performances during their 2017 seasons.Â

Brett Brocoff (Las Vegas, Nev./Desert Oasis HS) was selected in the 28th round of the MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves. Brocoff was the 4A Southern Nevada Player of the Year, a first-team all-state selection by the Las Vegas Review Journal, the Sunset Region Player of the Year and the Southwest League Player of the Year. He went 6-1 on the mound with a 1.57 ERA and 82 strikeouts over 49 innings. Brocoff also hit .421 with three home runs and 37 RBI.

The Utes have three incoming players from Utah. Chris Rowan, who helped lead Cottonwood High School to the 5A state title, was named as the 5A MVP by the Salt Lake Tribune. He was a first-team all-state player and selected to the All-Salt Lake Tribune team. Rowan hit a triple that led to the game-winning run in extra innings in the state quarterfinals against American Fork. Justin Kelly from Copper Hills High School was an honorable mention all-state player after leading the team with a 1.67 earned run average. He also struck out 42 over 37 2/3 innings played, while hitting .304 on the year at the plate. Kelly was named to the 5A North All-Star team. Kade Skeen helped lead Fremont High School to the Region 1 title. He was a second-team all-state player and hit .388 on the year.

Matt Richardson (San Diego, Calif./Helix HS) was a second-team All-East County selection after helping Helix finish second in the CIF San Diego Open Section. Ashton Goddard (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach HS) missed most of the season due to injury, but recorded a 2.33 ERA and 1-1 record with two saves and 20 strikeouts over eight appearances. Ian MacIver (Pleasant Hill, Calif./College Park HS) allowed just 11 earned runs in 13 games. He pitched four complete games with a 1.11 ERA, 72 strikeouts and a 7-4 record. Shea Kramer (Vacaville, Calif./Vacaville HS) was named to the All-Monticello Empire League team after hitting .329 with 18 RBI, helping lead Vacaville to the MEL title. Â

Among the players transferring to Utah, Kyle Robeniol and Austin Moore helped lead Orange Coast College to the Southern Section Regional of the CCCAA tournament (the third round of the playoffs) as well as the Orange Empire Conference title. Robeniol was a CCCBCA Southern California All-So-Cal player as well as a first-team All-OEC starting pitcher. He led the league with 90 strikeouts, his eight wins was third in the league and his 2.36 ERA ranked fifth in the OEC. Moore made 11 appearances on the mound with a 2-1 record and 13 strikeouts as well as a 2.70 ERA. Â

Erick Migueles hit .307 with 38 RBI, eight home runs and 12 doubles at Pima Community College. Rykker Tom, who enrolled at Utah in the spring after transferring from San Diego and was a three-time first-team all-state player at Cedar City High School, will also be available this fall.

Also joining the Utes in the fall is Isaac Deveaux, a member of the Canada Junior National Team from Montreal.
