SALT LAKE CITY – Utah baseball added eight new members to its team during the national signing period, head coach
Bill Kinneberg announced.

"I'm really excited about this class," Kinneberg said. "It is one of the more talented classes we've ever assembled due to the great job that
Mike Crawford and
Jay Brossman did. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to coach these guys and have them in our program."

The eight signees are from five different states and there are four pitchers, three infielders and a catcher.

Sean Bolin is a right handed pitcher from Dallas, Texas. He has a 16-2 record with a 0.85 at Argyle High School. His team won the state championship his junior season finishing the season 37-0. Bolin was a big part of that throwing 21 consecutive shutout innings in the playoffs. He was rewarded for his great year being name First Team All-State, First Team All-Region as well as Regional Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season. Bolin's sophomore season was a success too as he was named District Newcomer of the Year. He plans to major in Entrepreneurship/Business at Utah.

Noah Burgarello is a shortstop from Glendale, Arizona. He was a three-year letterman at Sandra Day O'Connor High School. Through his junior season, he is a career .391 hitter. He helped lead his team to a state championship in 2018 by hitting .444 in the state tournament with a .625 OBP. He hit a 2-RBI double to secure the state championship. Burgarello also gets it done in the classroom as he was named to the 6A Desert Region All-Academic Team. He plans on majoring in Business at Utah.

TJ Clarkson is a first baseman from Gilbert, Arizona. He is a four-year letterman and four-year golden scholar that has had a .327 batting average as well as a 1.80 ERA. Clarkson was named Arizona First Team BCA All-State as a junior after hitting .353 with four home runs. That came after a big sophomore season where he was named Second Team All-Region at Mesquite High School. He plans to major in Finance at Utah.

Josh Giffins is a right handed pitcher from San Ramon, California. He holds a 7-2 record with a 2.12 ERA. Giffins had a perfect game against San Ramon Valley and was named EBAL Honorable Mention in 2018.

Porter Hodge is a pitcher from Murray, Utah. He has gone 11-3 with a 1.80 ERA pitching 81.2 innings with 100 strikeouts. He's a four-year letterman at Cottonwood HS. Hodge has also been named to the academic honor roll after his sophomore and junior seasons.

Randon Hostert is a right handed pitcher from Idaho Falls, Idaho. He has earned 12 wins with a 1.19 ERA at Bonneville HS. In 99.2 innings pitched, he has 139 strikeouts and has held his opponents to a .139 batting average. Hostert was named to the Idaho All-State team as well as to the All-Conference team and All-Area team. His team was the state runner up in the 2018 season.

Brock Rudy is a catcher from Walnut Creek, California. He is a four-year letterman at Northgate High School. Rudy was named First Team All-League as a catcher and to the 2018 Â Area-Code Team.

Kayler Yates is a short stop from St. George, Utah. He is a four-year letterman at Dixie High School, who has a .333 career average with 10 doubles, three home runs and a .437 OBP. Yates hit .437 his junior season and had a walk-off hit to win the 2018 State Championship. He was also a big part of the team that won the State Championship in 2017. Â
