SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah women's basketball power forward Megan Huff joined the 1,000 career points club in Utah's win over Seattle U, giving the senior another milestone to check off her list.
Huff, who transferred to Utah from Hawaii, has scored 557 points in 36 games in a Utah uniform. Add that to the 455 points she racked up in two season with the Rainbow Wahine and the Federal Way, Wash. native has 1,012 through 89 career games in Division I basketball.
She has 15 double-doubles between her time at Utah and Hawaii, with 10 coming with the Utes. She has scored in double figures in 28 of her 36 games at Utah, including 10 20-point games.
The first-team All-Pac-12 selection is averaging 15.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game at Utah, including 19.5 points per game this season. She has scored in double-digits in all six games this year, including in the 20-point range three times.
This season, she ranks fourth in the Pac-12 in scoring and third in rebounds per game (9.7), also ranking in the top-10 in free throw percentage and three-point percentage, showing she is dominant inside and out. Huff has four double-doubles this season so far, ranking her eighth nationally through six games.
Her debut season in 2017-18 for the Utes was nothing short of impressive, finishing in the top 11 in the Pac-12 in scoring, field goal percentage, free throw percentage and offensive, defensive and total rebounds. She shot 50-percent or higher in 17 games last season and ranked in the top-75 nationally in field goal percentage.
Huff will be honored prior to Utah's tip against Utah Valley on Saturday, Dec. 1. The game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. on the Pac-12 Networks.
