TJ Clarkson is a first baseman from Gilbert, Arizona. He is a four-year letterman and four-year golden scholar that has had a .327 batting average as well as a 1.80 ERA.

Clarkson was named Arizona First Team BCA All-State as a junior after hitting .353 with four home runs. That came after a big sophomore season where he was named Second Team All-Region at Mesquite High School.

Why did you choose Utah and what other schools were recruiting you?
TC: I chose Utah because of the great education I will receive and the opportunity to play Pac 12 baseball for a great program. I was also recruited by ASU, Arizona, Purdue, Cal Poly, Gonzaga, and San Diego.

Who has been the most influential person or people in your life and why?
TC: The most influential person in my life is my dad because he is the true definition of what a hard-worker is.

What is your favorite baseball memory so far?
TC: My favorite baseball memory is when I went to Oklahoma this past summer for the Sunbelt Classic with Team Arizona. We ended up winning the Championship ending with a record of 9-0 and I was honored to receive the tournament MVP award.

What are you most excited about in playing baseball for the Utes?
TC: The thing I am most excited about is getting on the field for the Utes and helping the team punch a ticket to Omaha.

What goals do you have while in college as well as after college?
TC: My goals:Â 1) Graduate with my Business Finance degree, 2) Help Utah Baseball win both Pac-12 Championships and trips to Omaha, 3) Play MLB baseball.
