THIS WEEK
The Utah men's golf team will head to the National Invitational Tournament to compete in the two-day, 54-hole event. The N.I.T. will take place on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 25-26, at the OMNI Tucson National Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
THE FIELD
Utah will compete in a field of 16 teams at the N.I.T., which includes tournament host, Arizona, along with Arizona State, Colorado State, Iowa State, Nevada, New Mexico State, North Texas, Princeton, Rutgers, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, San Diego, UNLV, UTEP, and Wyoming.
THE COURSE
The OMNI Tucson National Golf Course has hosted over 30 PGA Tour events and was host to the 2006 NCAA Regionals. The OMNI Tucson National includes two different courses in the Catalina Course and the Sonoran Course.
The Catalina course, which will be the course played in the N.I.T., is a parkland style and has eight sparkling lakes and 80 bunkers. It has been selected as one of Golf Digest's "75 Best Golf Resorts in America", while the 18
th hole is considered to be one of the most challenging holes on the PGA Tour.
UTAH'S LINE-UP
Utah's line-up this week will consist of: Junior
Kyler Dunkle, sophomore
Jordan Costello, freshman
Blake Tomlinson, freshman
Tristan Mandur, and sophomore
Mitchell Schow. Competing as an individual, junior
Nathan Wunderli will also be making the trip to Tucson.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
Participants will play the first and second rounds, 36 holes, on Sunday, Feb. 25, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. MST. Golfers will then complete the final 18-holes on Sunday, Feb. 26, which will also begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. MST.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah opened its spring season at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawaii. The Utes finished the three-day event in 10
th place with a combined score of 3-over par (285-287-295=867) at the Wailua Golf Course.
Two Ute golfers notched top-20 finishes in the opening tournament. Sophomore
Jordan Costello posted his second top-20 performance of the season, finishing in a tie for 14
th overall with a score of 3-under par (71-67-75=213). Freshman
Blake Tomlinson earned his third top-20 finish of the season after placing in a tie for 17
th place with a combined score of 2-under par (73-71-70=214).
GOING LOW
Sophomore
Jordan Costello registered a season/career-low round of 67 during the second round of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate last weekend in Lihue, Hawaii. The round of 67 marked the sophomore's first round in the 60's on the season and the first since he notched a round of 68 during the PING Cougar Classic in April of 2017 during his freshman campaign.
AROUND THE GREEN
•Junior
Kyler Dunkle's season/career-low score of 64, which he recorded in the final round of the Mark Simpson Invitational, ranks tied for 25th in the nation for low round on the season. Dunkle also ranks tied for 29th in the nation with a 3.97 average on par-4's this season.
•Sophomore
Jordan Costello ranks tied for 48
th in the nation with an average score of 4.54 on par-5's this season.
QUOTABLE
"Three of our players played at Tucson National last year and are familiar with the golf course," said Utah head coach
Garrett Clegg. "We will be excited to get on our plane Thursday and get a couple of days of practice in before we tee up on Sunday morning. Kyler and Mitchell will be playing in their first tournament of the spring. I know they are excited to be back in the line-up and get their season started."
UP NEXT
The Utes will return to the state of Arizona to compete in the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate on Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4. The two-day event will take place at Scottsdale's Outlaw Course in Scottsdale, Ariz.
