ON DECKÂ
Utah head to the East Coast for its fourth tournament of the non-conference schedule. The Utes will travel to the University of Maryland for games against the host Terrapins, Miami (OH), Yale and Jacksonville
UTAHÂ NOTES
- Alyssa Barrera was named to the USA Softball Player of the Year "Watch List", one of nine sophomores on the 50-person list
- Katie Donovan is the active Pac-12 leader in career wins, strikeouts, saves, starts, innings and appearances
- Donovan has 490 strikeouts for her career and needs two to pass Generra Nielson for fourth place all-time in Utah history. She only needs five strikeouts to surpass Janet womack for third place.
 - Heather Bowen is third on the team with a .333 batting average and is 10 hits shy of 150 for her career
-Â At the Mary Nutter Classic, head coach Amy Hogue won her 300th game at Utah and 500th game of her career.
- Utah finished 37-16, its best record since 1997, and had its best mark in Pac-12 play (13-9) since joining the conference in 2012.
- The Utes reached the postseason for a 21st time and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in a third straight year, a program first.
- Utah also advanced to a second-straight NCAA Super Regional and hosted a NCAA Regional for the first time
- Utah finished last season ranked 18th nationally in scoring at 5.9 runs per contest and team batting average (.318)
TEXAS A&M TOURNAMENT RECAP
Utah capped a second winning weekend with three wins at the Texas A&M Tournament over the host Aggies, Louisiana Tech and Texas State.
In the win over No. 6 Texas A&M, Kelly Martinez was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and three driven in. Against La Tech, Hailey Hilburn drove in three and also earned the wins with three innings of shutout relief.Â
In the finale, Katie Donovan and Miranda Viramontes limited the Bobcats to three hits and struck out nine batters.Â
For the weekend, BreOnna Castaneda batted .455 while Martinez hit .357. Hilburn led the team with five runs driven in.
