THIS WEEK
The Utah men's golf team is set to close out regular season action at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational this Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15. The two-day, 54-hole event will take place at ASU's Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
THE FIELD
Utah will compete in a field of 17 teams at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational, which includes five teams ranked in the top-25. Along with the Utes and tournament host, No. 22 Arizona State, the field will consist of: top-ranked Oklahoma State, Arizona, No. 9 Baylor, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Hawaii, New Mexico State, No. 8 Oklahoma, Oregon State, No. 23 UNLV, UC Irvine, Washington State, and Wyoming.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
The two-day event will begin on Saturday, April 14, with the golfers to play 36 holes on the first day of action. The first round will begin with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. MT with the second round to follow. The event will close out on Sunday, April 15, with tee times off of the No. 1 and No. 10 tees beginning at 7 a.m. MT.
A separate tournament for the individuals will take place at Papago Golf Course (par-71/7,316 yards) in Phoenix. The individual event will run the same days as the team tournament.
UTAH'S LINE-UP
Utah's line-up this week will consist of: freshman
Blake Tomlinson, junior
Kyler Dunkle, freshman
Tristan Mandur, sophomore
Jordan Costello, and sophomore
Mitchell Schow.
The Utes will also have a trio of individuals competing this weekend. Junior
Nathan Wunderli, sophomore
Peyton Hastings, and freshman
Andrew Crockett will represent Utah as individuals in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.

THE COURSE
The Arizona State University Karsten Golf Course is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Sky Harbor International Airport, and was rated "4 ½ stars" by Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play". The championship par-71 Pete Dye, Scottish links design with rolling hills and railroad ties is home to one of the strongest collegiate golf programs in the country, and boasts exceptional playing conditions year-round. The four sets of tees ranging from 4,765 to 7,316 yards provide a memorable challenge for players of all levels.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah last saw action at The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford, where the Utes struggled to find a rhythm during the three-day event. The Utes finished in 21
st place with a combined score of 35-over par (298-286-303=887) at TPC Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco, Calif.
Freshman
Blake Tomlinson and junior
Kyler Dunkle continued to lead Utah's five-man team in another event. Tomlinson finished the event with a combined score of 5-over par (75-71-72=218) to finish in a tie for 59
th place, while Dunkle carded a score of 6-over par (70-75-74=219) to place 65
th overall.
QUOTABLE
"This is our final tournament of the regular season," said head coach
Garrett Clegg. "We have had a little over a week at home and are looking forward to getting out on the course again to compete. The Karsten Course is a place everyone on the team has played. It will be a fantastic tournament and we are excited to get to Phoenix on Thursday."
UP NEXT
The Utes will head to the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships, which will be held at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Los Angeles. The conference tournament will be held over the course of three days, Monday through Wednesday, April 23-25.
