SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah baseball team held its first team practice of the fall on Monday, September 17.

"I think our players and coaches are really looking forward to the team aspect of the fall," head coach
Bill Kinneberg said. "After four weeks of individuals, we're physically ready to start to scrimmage and put in team concepts. I think everyone is looking forward to the next month and a half of practicing as a team and getting ready to play."

The team has 19 returning players from a season ago including
Chandler Anderson. Anderson had a great summer, helping lead the Corvallis Knights to a summer league championship. He was named Second Team All-WCL after hitting .337 and batting in 34 RBI. He also led the team with 22 stolen bases and was second on the team scoring 40 runs.

Through the fall the Utes will have two games as well as 12 intersquad scrimmages.

The first game will be against Utah Valley at home on Saturday, October 6 at 4:30 p.m. For the second game, they will travel to Dixie State on Saturday, October 27.

The first intersquad scrimmage will be this Friday on September 21 at 3:15 and the final one will be on Tuesday, October 23. Two of the scrimmages will be at Smith's Ballpark on September 28 and 29.
