Why did you choose Utah and what other schools were recruiting you?
BR: I chose Utah because I felt I had a real connection with the coaches. Especially the coach that recruited me. Out of all the coaches I have ever talked too, coach
Jay Brossman made it feel like I was in the Ute family to start with. It also meant a lot and was a deciding factor that coach Brossman reached out to me early and believed in me since I was 14 when he offered me after seeing me play in LA. Also, my uncle
Jeff Rudy, is the director of football operations and is someone I'm looking forward to being around and having family close. Some other schools that recruited me were most Pac-12 schools, Cal Poly, Kansas, and some other big 12 schools.
Â
Who has been the most influential person or people in your life and why?
BR: The two most influential people have been my dad and Kevin Stanley. My dad has been someone I have always looked up to because of his unmatched work ethic and doing things for other people before things for himself. He taught me how to play the game right at a young age and to be tougher than anyone else on the field.
Â
Kevin Stanley is a big reason my catching is where it's at today. He believed in me since I was a freshman and cleaning me up and making sure I was more than just an offensive catcher. He taught me how to have grit, play with pride and to be a leader. As a catcher everyone is looking at you at all times and you have to be ready and prepared for every situation.

What is your favorite baseball memory so far?
My favorite baseball memory so far was playing in the Cooperstown Championship. I hit a walk off in the quarter-final game after losing by a lot earlier that game. We made it to the championship and ended up losing a close game, but it was a heck of an experience.
Â
What are you most excited about in playing baseball for the Utes?
I'm most excited about getting to play the high intensity games, the brotherhood and make friends that will last a lifetime. Also, I'm excited to try to win a Pac-12 championship!
Â
What goals do you have while in college as well as after college?
My goals in college are to do my part and try to win a championship while I'm here and go to Omaha! After college, I hope I will be able to continue my baseball career professionally.
