SEATTLE – No. 15 Utah volleyball lost an absolute heartbreaker at No. 13 Washington (15-25, 25-18, 25-20, 14-25, 19-21) in the Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.

Utah held a 14-11 lead in the fifth, but Huskies won three straight points to tie it up at 14. In all, the Utes had seven match points, but the Huskies kept battling back. It appeared that Utah was going to have their eighth match point after a Washington service error, but a challenge showed the ball caught the line and then the Huskies got a block to end the match.

Berkeley Oblad had 13 kills and became just the sixth player in program history to have 1,000-career kills and 400-career blocks.

Brianna Doehrmann had 18 digs bringing her to 1,562 career digs.Â

After Utah dropped the first set, they found a rhythm in the second and third set. They did find themselves in a big hole early in the second, but an 8-1 run helped them take the lead. The Utes kept pushing eventually closing out the set 25-20, winning the final three points.

The third set was tight until Utah had two big runs to put them up eight and eventually took a 2-1 lead in the match after a 25-18 third-set win.

Washington gained an advantage early in the fourth and Utah couldn't recover pushing the match to a fifth set.

In the fifth, Utah went on a 3-0 run to go up 12-8. They held that lead getting to 14-11, but the Huskies never gave up on their home floor. They responded with a 3-0 run to even things up at 14. The Utes would have four more match points, but couldn't get one to fall. After having a service error overturned on a challenge, Washington ended the match with a block to earn the victory.

Utah finishes their four-match road trip 3-1 and is now 19-8 on the season and 11-5 in the Pac-12.

Dani Drews led the team with 19 kills and 10 digs.
Kenzie Koerber also had double-digit kills with 12.
Utah will be back at home for three straight home matches beginning with Stanford this Friday, November 22 at 7 p.m.
