FIRST SERVE
Utah will travel to Stanford to play the Cardinal for the third time this season in the Stanford Regional on Friday, December 13 at 8 p.m. PT (9 p.m. MT).

Stanford won both matches earlier in the season, but they were very close. In the first match on the Farm this season, Utah had two match points in the fifth set, but Stanford overcame them on their home court to get the win. In the second match, the Cardinal won the match in four sets.

This is Utah's second Sweet 16 in three seasons. In 2017, they took on Texas in the Stanford Regional.

The match against Stanford will be televised on ESPNU.

ALL-REGION AWARDS
Dani Drews and head coach
Beth Launiere were given the top honors in the Pacific South Region by being named Player of the Year and Coach of the year.
Â
It is the second time in program history that a Ute has been named Region Player of the Year.
Â
Laniere has been named Region Coach of the Year for the fourth time in her career after guiding the team to its 18th 20-win season and their fourth Sweet 16.

Along with these two awards, Utah's great season was rewarded as they got four named to the All-Region team
Kenzie Koerber,
Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres and
Berkeley Oblad as well as Drews were all named to the All-Region team.

Koerber and Oblad have received All-Region honorable mention honors before, but this is the first time them and Ka'aha'aina-Torres have been named on the team. This is the second year in a row that Drews has been named to the team.

SURVIVE AND ADVANCE
After a long five-set battle against Illinois, Utah swept in-state rival BYU on their home floor to reach the Sweet 16.
Â
It was the first time BYU had been swept on its home floor since early 2011 and the first time Utah had swept BYU in Provo since 2010.
Â
So far, Utah has played two 2018 Final Four teams in Illinois and BYU and will now play their third 2018 Final Four team and defending National Champion in Stanford.

PAC-12 COACH OF THE YEAR
Head coach
Beth Launiere was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year after guiding Utah to its highest finish in Pac-12 history and most wins with 14.

This is the fourth time Launiere has been named conference coach of the year as she was named the Mountain West Coach of the Year three times.

In her 30th season, Launiere guided to the Utes to their 18th 20-win season and to their 16th NCAA Tournament.Â

ALL-PAC-12 WINNERS
Utah had five players honored by the Pac-12 with two on the All-Pac-12 team, one on the All-Freshman team and two being named honorable mention.

Dani Drews and
Kenzie Koerber are constants on the court for the Utes and were rewarded by being named to the All-Pac-12 Team.
Â
Drews continued to be tremendous this season totaling 581 kills in the regular season. In conference play, Drews was third overall averaging 4.76 kills per set. She had 14 matches with over 20 kills and two matches with over 30. Against USC, she set a rally-scoring program record with 33 kills while also hitting .348 in the match. Drews also leads the team in aces with 33. This is the second time she's been named to the All-Pac-12 Team.

Koerber earns her first All-Pac-12 team honor after finishing second on the team in kills with 364 hitting .276 during the regular season. She's also second on the team with 30 service aces. Koerber was honored twice this season with Pac-12 Weekly awards winning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. The junior right side started the season strong by being named the Utah Volleyball Classic MVP after helping Utah go 3-0 in the opening weekend beating two ranked teams. Along with her strong offensive numbers, Koerber has been great on defense as well being third on the team with 100 blocks and second on the team with 290 digs.

Zoe Weatherington was named to the All-Freshman team after having 268 kills and having 15 matches with double-figure kills.

Berkeley Oblad and
Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres were also honored as each of them was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention.

NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The Utes have made it to their fourth Sweet 16 in program history and their second in three seasons.
Â
Overall, this is Utah's 16th NCAA Tournament appearance. For the opening rounds, they were sent to BYU for the third time in four years.

This is the fourth season in a row Utah has played in the NCAA Tournament.
