TEDESCHI COMES UP BIG OUT OF THE BULLPEN
Joshua Tedeschi came in against Nevada in the third inning and pitched five strong innings that kept Utah in the game until their bats came alive in the sixth inning.
He only allowed one run and gave up seven hits. After getting out of a jam in the third inning, he found himself in some trouble in the seventh when the Wolf Pack loaded the bases. Nevada ended up getting one run, but overall they were contained to limit the damage and the Utes lead was preserved.
The senior pitcher got the win and was a key part in securing Utah's first win this season.

Nine players made their debut in a Utah uniform on the opening weekend. Three freshman pitchers came out of the bullpen and didn't allow a run in their first appearances.
In the field, the newcomers also made a difference as five either started or made appearances off the bench.
Chase Fernlund hit .667 going 2-3 at the plate getting the start on Saturday at shortstop.
Jayden Kiernan got a start at catcher on Saturday,
Christian Almanza and
Tyler Thompson each got a start at DH and

Schramm earned his first career save against Nevada on Sunday, pitching two innings only allowing one hit. He also had two strikeouts.
