KICKOFF
Utah Soccer begins Pac-12 play with a trip to Tempe on Friday afternoon. The Utes and Sun Devils kick-off at 2 p.m. AT/3 p.m. MT in the curtain raiser for the conference.

•     Utah's strength of schedule is the strongest in the conference and ranks 31^st nationally - the next closest Pac-12 team is Stanford at 76
•     Utah leads the Pac-12 in save percentage at .868 and saves per game at 5.11

•     Holly Daugirda's two game-winning goals ranks third in the Pac-12

NELSON NAMED PAC-12 GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Carly Nelson was named the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week after a pair of shutouts this past weekend against Butler and San Diego.

The Ute stopper has combined with Utah's defense to blank its last four opponents and five of the last six. This is the longest shutout streak for a Ute defense since the 2006 season (9 games)

The senior from Lindon leads the Pac-12 with 46 saves, ranks second with six shutouts and third in save percentage at .868. She also leads the league in minutes played (842:57).

Nelson's 19 career shutouts place her third all-time in Utah history and she needs 51 saves to crack the top five in that category.

This is the 16th Pac-12 weekly award for Utah Soccer and fourth for Nelson

WEEK IN REVIEW
The Utes kept their unbeaten record at home intact after a scoreless draw with Butler and a 1-0 win against San Diego. Utah kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard for the first time this season before Anna Escobedo's first goal of her career was the winner against the Toreros.

SERIES HISTORY
Utah is 5-5-2 against ASU after earning its first win ever in Tempe last season (1-4-1). Utah is unbeaten in its last four games against the Sun Devils (2-0-2) with that 2-0 result a year ago. Jessica Hixson sealed the game in the 55th minute after Utah took the lead right before halftime. Hailey Stodden and Ireland Dunn notched assists. Aleea Gwerder notched an assist in the 2017 meeting, a 2-2 draw in Salt Lake City.
