SALT LAKE CITY – Utah baseball's
Oliver Dunn was drafted in the 11
th round by the New York Yankees this past June and began his professional career after having three highly successful years at Utah on the diamond.

The former Ute star began his professional career with the Pulaski Yankees in the Appalachian League, the Rookie-class Minor League Baseball league. He played in 14 games with them and totaled 11 RBI with two home runs and two doubles hitting .240.

Dunn quickly moved up to Class A to play for the Charleston River Dogs. There he played in 37 games and finished the season hitting .220 with 11 RBI and scored 13 runs. He had five doubles and one home run.

C.J. Cron is in the middle of his sixth season in the majors and is in his first year with the Minnesota Twins. Playing first base and designated hitter, he has seen action in 110 games and is hitting .260 with 24 home runs and 75 RBI. Cron has helped the Twins build a 5.5 game lead in the Central Division over the Cleveland Indians.

Tanner Banks is playing for the Birmingham Barons, the Double-A affiliate for the Chicago White Sox. In 28 appearances, he has a 4.23 ERA and a record of 5-7. In 123.1 innings pitched, he has 85 strikeouts.

DaShawn Keirsey, Jr. is playing for the Cedar Rapids Kernels in Class A.
Riley Ottesen is pitching for the Dodgers Lasorda in the Arizona League, and
Andre Jackson is pitching for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in Class-A.

Back on campus, Utah has begun individuals this season and has its first team practice on Friday, September 20.
