SALT LAKE CITY – Utah baseball officially starts its 2020 season with practice on Friday, January 24.

Leading up to the season, Utah will travel to St. George for two weekends for practice to prepare for the opening series at UC Davis starting on Friday, February 14.

The Utes have 21 home games at Smith's Ballpark this season beginning with Utah Valley on March 17 followed up by their first home series against Nevada starting Friday, March 20.

Other big series Utah has at home this season are UCLA (March 27-29), Oregon State (April 17-19), Washington (May 1-3), Stanford (May 8-10) and Arizona (May 21-23). BYU heads to Salt Lake City for a matchup on May 12.

Utah has 20 letterwinners returning from a season ago with five starters as well as some key starting pitchers. They welcome 12 newcomers that were ranked as the 18
th best class in the country by Collegiate Baseball. Â

Fans can meet the 2020 Utah baseball team at 'Evening With Charlie Monfort' on Tuesday, February 4.

Monfort, a University of Utah graduate, is a Colorado Rockies club founder and has been one of the owners/managing general partners since 1992.
After being named vice chairmen in 2001, Monfort became CEO of the Rockies in 2003. Two years later, him and his brother Dick, became the primary owners after buying Jerry McMorris' share in the team. Monfort remained managing general partner, chairman and CEO until 2011, when he handed both roles to Dick. Â

'An Evening with' has become a yearly tradition for Utah baseball under head coach
Bill Kinneberg to kick off the season. The evening features a reception at 6 p.m. followed by a dinner at 7 p.m. There will also be a silent and live auction. Tickets for the event are $100 per person or $1,000 per table (10 plates per table).
