LAST TIME OUT
The Utah men's basketball team started off slow and gained traction behind the stellar play of
Timmy Allen and
Branden Carlson – who gave the Utes life in the second-half after sitting out with two early founds in the first frame. Utah took a brief 39-38 lead out of the 15:34 media break when Carlson knocked down both free throws but a 17-0 blitz by Oregon State that lasted 7:29 minutes was too much to overcome for the short-handed Utes and ultimately fell 74-56.
Â
Allen filled the stat sheets once again, finishing with 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists while Carlson had 16 points – 14 of which came in the second-half. The two combined to go 13-of-13 from the line for Utah, the first time its gone perfect from the stripe (min. 10 FTM) since going 11-of-11 at Arizona State on Feb. 9, 2012.
