SALT LAKE CITY – Utah baseball has announced the hiring of
Logan Nehls as the new Director of Operations heading into the 2021 season.
Â
Nehls is familiar with Utah serving as an equipment intern for a year and a half with baseball as one of his sports.
Â
"I'm really excited to get going for Coach Kinneberg and his staff," Nehls said. "I'm so incredibly grateful and thankful for the opportunity. I think it'll be a smooth transition, because I have built a good relationship with the coaches and staff serving as the equipment manager for the team the past year and a half. I look forward to being part of something special here at Utah within the baseball program."
Â
He is very familiar with the Pac-12 as he went to Arizona for undergrad. As a student there, he worked as an equipment operations intern for three years. He was responsible for the inventory of all athletic gear of Olympic sports.
Â
In the summer of 2018, Nehls was a training camp intern for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his time in Tampa, he assisted with the daily operations in the equipment room while also helping with on-field duties during practice for the quarterbacks and tight ends.
Â
The baseball team and Nehls have been preparing for their fast-approaching season as team practice starting January 29. Their first series is at UTSAÂ beginning on Friday, February 19.
