MATCH WEEK
Utah Volleyball begins a two-week stretch of road play to end the regular season this week, heading to No. 25 Washington State and No. 21 Washington for a pair of matches. Utah first travels to Pullman, Wash., to take on Washington State this Friday, Nov. 18. The Utes and Cougars will play at 8 p.m. MT at Bohler Gym on Pac-12 Mountain. To close out the weekend, Utah will play Washington on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. MT. The Utes and Huskies will play on Pac-12 Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena.

KJ Burgess has been a key part to Utah's offense and defense during the conference season as she is leading the team in blocks per set, as well as hitting percentage. Dominating in the middle, Burgess is recently posted a career-high 13 kills at Cal on .650 hitting. She also tied a career-high seven blocks against Stanford to lead the Utes before matching the effort once again with seven blocks against Oregon State. Her seven blocks led Utah in the team's 17 blocks, which is the most for the program since 2019. The Alpine, Utah native leads all Pac-12 freshmen in hitting percentage and blocks per set, while she ranks in the top-seven nationally among freshmen in both categories. In the last 14 matches, Burgess has hit above .429 in 10 outings to lead the offense. On the blocking front, Burgess has led the Utes or tied for the lead in blocks in seven of the last eight matches.

RALLYING AROUND ROBINSON
Utah's All-Pac-12 and AVCA All-Region player from a year ago,
Madelyn Robinson, has led the Utes from the start of the season and is second in the Pac-12 with 4.39 kills per set. Robinson has recorded double-digit kills in all but one match to lead the offense and is coming off consecutive double-doubles this past weekend. Robinson posted 20 kills and 15 digs against Oregon State to lead Utah in the win, while she collected a career-high six blocks to add to Utah's season-best 17 team blocks, which is the program's most since the 2019 season. She has averaged 4.50 kills per set since the start of Pac-12 play, and posted a career-high 28 kills in just four sets earlier in the season against Oregon in Eugene. On the Oregon road trip, Robinson averaged 6.57 kills per set on .354 hitting to lead the team. Robinson earned her first Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week award on Sept. 5, following her weekend at Purdue where she had two matches of 20-plus kills, which included a then-career high of 26 kills vs. Purdue. She has reached the 20-kill mark in five matches this season, while recording 15 or more kills in 14 outings.

RAMIREZ RUNNING THE BACK ROW

Vanessa Ramirez has taken over the back row this season, leading the Pac-12 Conference in digs per set to this point. Ramirez is averaging a league-best 4.08 digs per set this season, and has so far averaged 4.02 digs per set during Pac-12 play. She has posted double-digit digs in all but three matches this season and has tallied 20 or more digs in six matches. In Los Angeles early on in the conference season, Ramirez led the Utes with her sixth 20-dig match of the year after collecting 22 digs at USC. At the Purdue tournament, she posted two matches of 20-plus digs, which were both career high marks. She first posted a personal-best 25 digs against Milwaukee before upping the career high to 27 digs, which she recorded against Purdue. Ramirez has had the most or at least tied for the most digs on the team in 24 of 27 matches this season.

MILESTONE WATCH
• Utah fifth year senior
Megan Yett has moved into seventh all-time with 129 career matches played and is on pace to finish in the top-three in program history by the end of the regular season. Yett is currently ninth all-time with 465 career sets played, while she is four service aces away from joining the 100 career aces club at Utah. She would become the 16th Ute to reach 100 aces in a career.

Vanessa Ramirez is 23 digs away from joining the 1,000 career digs club. She would be the 12th Ute to accomplish the feat in program history. Ramirez has also posted 408 digs this season so far, which ranks ninth all-time in a single season with time left to move up the standings.

KJ Burgess' season hitting percentage of .370 currently ranks as Utah's second best in a single season all-time, while
Allie Olsen's .364 hitting percentage stands as the sixth best with four matches of the regular season left.
SCOUTING #25 WASHINGTON STATE
Washington State has won four of its last five matches, which includes three sweeps. The Cougars are coming off an undefeated weekend at Arizona (3-0) and Arizona State (3-1), which improved their Pac-12 record to 11-5 to sit in a tie for third place in the conference. Washington State is 18th in the nation with a .275 hitting percentage, while the Cougs lead the Pac-12 and are No. 42 nationally with 1.75 aces per set. WSU also ranks in the top-50 nationally with 2.45 blocks per set (#47), which ranks third in the Pac-12. Magda Jehlarova leads the Pac-12 and is 13th nationally with 1.41 blocks per set, while she is No. 31 in the nation and third in the Pac-12 with a 3.78 hitting percentage. Laura Jansen and Pia Timmer lead the offense with 3.55 and 3.29 kills per set, respectively.

Washington has split its matches the past five weekends of Pac-12 play. Most recently, Washington was upset in five sets by Arizona on the road before the Huskies took a five set win against Arizona State to close out the road trip. Washington is second in the Pac-12 and 12th nationally with a .288 hitting percentage, while it ranks fourth in the conference and 28th nationally with 12.87 assists per set. Ella May Powell dishes out 10.81 assists per set to lead the offense, which ranks fourth in the Pac-12 and 21st nationally. Marin Grote in second in the Pac-12 and 10th nationally with a .416 hitting percentage, while Claire Hoffman leads the team with 4.16 kills per set.

Utah closes out the 2022 regular season with a pair of road matches over Thanksgiving weekend. Utah opens the week's play against Arizona State on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. MT. The Utes and Sun Devils will compete at Desert Financial Arena on the Pac-12 Networks in Tempe, Ariz. Then, Utah's final match of the regular season comes on the road at Colorado on Friday, Nov. 25, at 3 p.m. MT.
