Utah wrapped up the regular season 9-3 overall and 7-2 in Pac-12 play after a dominating victory at Colorado on Saturday. With the league saying goodbye to divisions this season, the Utes will take on former south opponent USC on Friday in Allegiant Stadium.
Despite the Trojans holding the lead in the series record at 13-8, Utah won a thriller in Rice-Eccles Stadium this season on a two-point conversion. The Utes trailed by as many as 14 in the first half, but career-highs from quarterback Cameron Rising (30-of-44, 415 yds, 2 TDs; 3 rush TDs) and tight end Dalton Kincaid (16 rec., 234 yds, 1 TD) propelled Utah past USC, 43-42.
The Utes and the Trojans have played twice in neutral territory with USC beating Utah 28-21 in the Freedom Bowl in 1993, followed by the Utes winning the Las Vegas Bowl in 2001 by a score of 10-6. Since 2014, the two teams have traded wins and losses, standing at 4-4 in those eight games.
