SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball non-conference schedule nears completion with the announcement of Jacksonville State coming into the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Thursday, Dec. 8.

The Gamecocks will be the sixth and final team the Runnin' Utes face this year for the first time ever in program history when the two square off on the hardwood floor. Other first-time opponents for Utah include LIU, Georgia Tech, CSU Bakersfield, Sam Houston State and St. Thomas.

Seventh-year head coach Ray Harper led Jacksonville State to its second NCAA Tournament berth in program history in 2021-22. The Gamecocks finished last season 21-11 overall and won the ASUN Conference West Division with a 13-3 record in its first season in the league. Harper is the program's winningest coach with a 119-76 (.610) overall record and has led JSU to four of its five 20-plus win seasons.

Jacksonville State (1st Round) will be 1-of-6 teams that Utah plays this upcoming year that played in last season's NCAA Tournament. Other non-con teams include Marquette (1st Round) and TCU (2nd Round) while Arizona (Sweet 16), UCLA (Sweet 16) and USC (1st Round) all competed in March Madness from the Pac-12.
