SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball team will get tested once again this upcoming Monday, Nov. 27, when it battles Saint Mary's for its lone road game of the non-conference slate. Dave Flemming will have the call alongside Sean Farnham as the Runnin' Utes and Gaels kick off their home-and-home series on ESPNU at 9 p.m. (MT) / 8 p.m. (PT) local.

MAUI FIRE RELIEF
The Utah athletics department has teamed up with the Sape Foundation to raise money in support of those affected by the fires in Maui. Since the fires, the Sape Foundation have focused its fundraising efforts to support the people of Maui. These efforts are led by a pair of former Utah student-athletes, Lavaule Sape and Kawika Casco – who currently serves as a firefighter in Maui.

The Utes return to the newly renamed Delta Center next Thursday, Nov. 30, for it's a battle against Hawaii. The Rainbow Warriors are currently 4-0 after defeating UTRGV 76-57 in the first game of the Acrisure Invitational. UH is schedule to face off against San Diego on Saturday, Nov. 25, before heading to SLC for the showdown with the Runnin' Utes.ÂÂ

HOME SWEET HOME
After opening the season at home, the Utes will finally return to the Jon M. Huntsman Center after a month-long hiatus for a six-game homestand beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 5, against Southern Utah. Utah will then battle it out with in-state rival BYU on Saturday, Dec. 9, before welcoming in Utah Valley (Dec. 16) the following week. Utah will then close out non-conference action with Bellarmine on Wednesday, Dec. 20, before taking a short holiday break. It'll then ring in the new year and the final Pac-12 season inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center with Washington State (Dec. 29) and Washington (Dec. 31).

BIG WEEKEND IN CHARLESTON FOR CARLSON
Branden Carlson had a huge weekend at the Charleston Classic and was named to the all-tournament team when the dust settled. Carlson averaged 23.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks through three games in Charleston.

The South Jordan native opened tournament action with a career-high 31 points against Wake Forest to will the Runnin' Utes past the Demon Deacons 77-70. Carlson went 12-for-20 that night to close out the first day of action – including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc to go with 5 blocks. His 31 points ranked ninth-highest in the tournament's history. It also marked the first time a Ute has broken the 30-point threshold since Alfonso Plummer's unconscious shooting game against Oregon State in the Pac-12 Tournament.

In the semifinal game against #6/6 Houston, Carlson tacked on 17 points and 8 rebounds with 2 steals – including a 7-for-10 effort from the charity stripe. He then posted a game-high 22 points with 8 rebounds against #RV/RV St. John's.

CARLSON TABBED PAC-12 POW
After a stellar weekend in Charleston averaging 23.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks, Utah's
Branden Carlson was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week. He finished the tournament with 70 total points in three games – which ranked ninth-most in tournament history.

It also marked the second Pac-12 Player of the Week award for Carlson in his career and the third overall weekly honor ever after garnering player of the week last season and a freshman of the week award as well.

MADSEN FIRES
Gabe Madsen had a huge shooting night against #6/6 Houston to keep the Utes within striking distance of the Cougars, scoring a career-high 29 points on 8-of-15 shooting from beyond the arc. His 8 three-pointers tied Johnnie Bryant for the second-most by a Ute in a single-game, trailing just Alfonso Plummer's 11. ÂÂHis 29 points ended up being the 10th highest scoring total in a game at the Charleston Classic.
