SALT LAKE CITY – Utah men's basketball fans will get their first look at the 2024-25 squad on Tuesday, Oct. 29, when the Runnin' Utes welcome in the ThunderWolves of CSU Pueblo for its lone exhibition game inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center beginning at 7 p.m. (MT).

NEW LOOK UTES
The 2024-25 edition of the Runnin' Utes will feature nine newcomers seven transfers and two freshmen. Meanwhile,
Gabe Madsen,
Lawson Lovering and
Hunter Erickson feature the group of eight returners. Utah's seven transfers include
Miro Little (Baylor),
Ezra Ausar (East Carolina),
Brady Smith (SLCC),
Keanu Dawes (Rice),
Mike Sharavjamts (San Francisco),
Zach Keller (Wake Forest) and
Mason Madsen (Boston College). The two freshmen this season are
Joul Karram (Nazareth, Israel) and
Ibi Traore (Bamako, Mali).

Madsen is Utah's top returning scorer last season with 13.6 points average to go with his 3.9 rebounds per game and 2.5 assists average. The Rochester, Minn., product also knocked down a school single-season record 105 threes last season.

Lovering is Utah's top returning big man after averaging 6.2 points and 4.7 boards last season to go with his 20 blocks. Erickson came off the bench last season for the Utes with veteran experience averaging 4.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

ENTER THE THUNDERWOLVES
CSU Pueblo is led by 6th-year head coach Matt Hammer – who has three of his five starters returning from last season in De'Shaun Cooper, Armond Muldrew and Brevin Walter. In total, the ThunderWolves return 10 players while adding seven.

Hammer's team was picked to finish sixth in the RMAC Preseason Polls as voted on by the head coaches of the league. The No. 6 slot in the preseason poll is tied for the highest selection ever for CSU Pueblo, tying the 2017-18 squad.
UP NEXT
The 2024-25 season-opener is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. (MT) against Alcorn State. The opener will also serve as the second game of a double-header with the women's basketball team hosting Southern Utah earlier in the day at 11 a.m. (MT).
