HOUSTON – The 20
th-ranked Utah Volleyball team took on a new Big 12 opponent, sweeping the Houston Cougars, 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-22) on their home floor. With this win, the Utes secured their 20
th win of the season (20-5 overall, 10-4 Big 12) marking the 20
th 20-win season under head coach

Utah jumped ahead early in the first set, taking an 8-4 lead over the Cougars. Houston came clawing back, evening the score at 9-9, before taking the lead at the media timeout, 15-12. The Utes fought back, getting kills from
Lauren Jardine and
Kamry Bailey to tie the set at 16-16.
Emrie Satuala provided four timely kills to keep the Utes in the battle as the back-and-forth ran the score up to 20-20. Â Utah battled back in the late stages, finding some separation with a pair of Jardine kills and taking the set win, 25-23.

The two sides came out in the second set exchanging points, before Utah sparked a four-point run and capped off by a
Lauren Jardine ace, giving the Utes a 10-8 advantage. Utah maintained its advantage at 17-14, getting kills from
Kamryn Gibadlo and
Rianne Vos, with Vos adding an ace. Gibadlo maintained a hot hand from the service line, coming off a career-high night against BYU, she added two aces in the second set, helping the Utes extend their lead out to 20-15. The Utes would maintain the advantage down the stretch, taking the set 25-19.

In the third set, the Utes did not find separation until the midway point as the Cougars never lost the fight through the early going. Utah took a 15-13 lead, after getting back-to-back kills from Gibadlo and Jardine. The Utes saw a three-point lead at 20-17, after a Satuala kill landed, the Cougar attack went for an error and
Levani Key-Powell served up an ace. Utah continued to take advantage of the Houston miscues before Gibadlo could put away the final kill of the night for the Utes and securing the sweep with a 25-22 set three win.

STANDOUT STATS
- Emrie Satuala led the Utah attack for the fourth time this season, putting down a team-high 11 kills.
- This is the second time Satuala has led the team in both kills (11) and blocks (5). She last led the Utes in both categories on Sept. 21 at Wyoming with 12 kills and five blocks.
- Kamryn Gibadlo tallied 10 kills, finishing with double-digit kills for the 19th time this season and the third match in a row.
- For the second consecutive match a Ute has had a flawless attacking effort, as Lauren Jardine finished with eight kills on 20 attempts without an error, hitting .400.
- Both Gibadlo and Jardine tallied two aces each from the service line. Rianne Vos, Claranne Fechter and Levani Key-Powell each tallied one.
- Gibadlo and Fechter led the Utah receiving effort with 12 digs each. This was the first time for Gibadlo to finish as the team leader in digs.
- Isabelle Marco tallied 16 assists with Grace Hammond adding 13, as the pair combined for 29 of Utah's 34 assists.
