IRVING, Texas – After helping lead the University of Utah women's soccer team to a shutout victory over the Arizona Wildcats on Friday,
Brooklyn Blaylock has claimed the Big 12's Defensive Player of the Week award, it was announced on Wednesday.
The Salt Lake City native didn't miss a minute of Utah's matchup with the Wildcats and her work played a significant role in a 1-0 triumph in which the Utes didn't allow a single shot on goal. This marked the first time since 2022 Utah held an opponent without any on-target efforts.
Blaylock was also the most recent Ute to claim one of the league's defensive player of the week award, doing so Oct. 23, 2024.
