ATLANTA – Utah women's soccer alumna
Katie O'Kane has been called up to the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team training camp in Philadelphia this month.
O'Kane is one of six midfielders selected to the U-23 squad and one of 20 players selected from the NWSL. The training camp will run concurrently with the U.S. Women's National Team's training window in Philadelphia from Oct. 20-23 so that head coach Emma Hayes and her staff can observe the U-23 squad. O'Kane and the U-23 team will then continue training until Oct. 28 while the senior squad leaves for Connecticut and Kansas City to wrap its October matches.
The Seattle native wrapped her collegiate career last fall after starting all 54 matches in her three seasons in Utah, netting 16 goals and six assists. O'Kane became the first Ute to enter the professional ranks after the NWSL eliminated its draft when she signed with Racing Louisville FC in February and signed an extension to keep her in the 'Ville through 2027. She was also head coach
Hideki Nakada's second Ute to reach the professional ranks after Courtney Brown was selected 49th overall by the Washington Spirit in the 2024 NWSL Draft.
In 24 matches so far during the 2025 NWSL season, O'Kane has scored once and added two assists for Racing Louisville. She is one of 14 players named to the U-23 roster that have scored in NWSL play this season.
