SALT LAKE CITY – The six-game homestand continues for Utah men's basketball as it welcomes in the Weber State Wildcats for a 5 p.m. (MDT) contest this Saturday, Nov. 8, for its Salute to Service game inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center. All military personnel and first responders get 50% off their ticket on game day at the Jon M. Huntsman Center Ticket Office.

Chris Sylvester and Joe Cravens, who spent seven seasons (1999-2006) at the helm for Weber State, will have the call on ESPN+ as the Utes and Wildcats square off for the 39th time in program history.

Alex Jensen notched his first-career victory on opening night of the 2025-26 basketball season after the Runnin' Utes defeated San Jose State 84-75 at home. He joins his mentor and coach, Rick Majerus, and six other head coaches to won inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center in their debut as a head coach.

TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE
Utah assistant coach
Eric Daniels will be a familiar face on the opposing team bench this Saturday when the Runnin' Utes take on Weber State. Daniels spent five seasons (2019-24) in Ogden, three under long-time head coach Randy Rahe and two seasons under current head coach Eric Duft. During his time with the Wildcats, Daniels helped develop Dillon Jones – who became just the second player ever in program history to be drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft (No. 26-overall) – joining Damian Lillard. Jones was also voted the 2024 Big Sky MVP and a unanimous First-Team All-Big Sky selection after averaging 20.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists his senior year (2024).

Saturday's TV analyst Joe Cravens, who was a long-time assistant coach under Rick Majerus, served as the head coach at Weber State from 1999-2006 after serving as an assistant coach from 1997-99. He was also the last head coach to lead Weber State to a victory inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center back on Dec. 9, 2000, 79-77.

Alex Jensen has a lot of history with the Weber State program, his older brother Andy was on the team from 1996-99 and served as an assistant coach from 2001-05. The Jensen brothers squared off against each other twice in their collegiate careers, but only played against each other once, with Alex getting the upper hand both times.
