WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIF. — The No. 20-ranked Utah golf team closed day three of the Southwestern Invitational with a four-player score of 21-over 301. Overall, the Utes tied for eighth at the Southwestern with a four-player 54-hole total of 36-over 876.
No Ute fared better on a tough day that saw only one team finish under par than
Sergio Jimenez, who shot a 4-over 74 in the invitational's final round. Jimenez, who had the team's lowest round of the week—a
masterful 3-under 67 on day one—played well down the stretch, overcoming a bumpy start to his round with a 1-under 35 on the back nine of North Ranch Country Club's par-70 course.
All in all, the junior from Spain put together rounds of 67-74-74 to finish the week with a three-day total of 5-over 214. The score earned Jimenez Utah's highest individual finish at 20
th place.
Senior
Davis Johnson earned the Utes' second-highest placement of the tournament with a three-day total of 9-over 219. Johnson,
who had the team's lowest second round score, finished his week tied for 32
nd after an eventful 6-over 76 third round.
Newcomer
Jack Jerge settled in as the third round progressed, responding to a 4-over 38 front nine with a 1-over 37 on the back—Utah's second lowest back nine score of the day. With a 5-over 75 on day three of the tournament, Jerge ended his week tied for 57
th place with a three-day score of 16-over 226.
Brandon Robison rounded out Utah's top four scores of the tournament with an 11-over 221 (T39th). Finally,
Gabriel Palacios ended his week with a final score of 17-over 227 (T61).
Enguita, who entered the tournament as an individual for Utah, finished in 55
th place with a final score of 15-over 225.
COACHES THOUGHTS
"We didn't compete at our highest level, but this week was good to knock the winter rust off our game before we enter the rest of our schedule," said Utah head coach
Garrett Clegg, "We have a lot we need to work on between now and the John Burns Intercollegiate. So right now, it's all about getting home and putting the work into our games."

UP NEXT
Utah will head to Honolulu, Hawaii, to take part in the John Burns Intercollegiate, Feb. 12–14. The Utes will have to find another time to relax on the beach as the team aims to defend its 2025 victory at the event. Meanwhile, Palacios will aim to defend his individual crown after shooting 15-under 198 in the 2025 edition of the John Burns.
