Upcoming Event: Football at Wyoming on September 13, 2025 at 6 p.m.

After five seasons in an administrative capacity with the Utah football team (2009, 2011-14), Randy Coy is now a defensive graduate assistant working with the safeties. He also scouts the opposition’s offense.
Coy’s past coaching experience includes five years at the high school level in Colorado (Chaparral and Wheat Ridge) and Utah (Timpanogos, Provo, and Herriman). During his prep coaching career, he coached the offensive and defensive lines, linebackers and tight ends. He was also the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Provo High (2008) and the special teams’ coordinator at Timpanogos (2002), Wheat Ridge (2003) and Herriman (2010) high schools.
Coy was a walk-on football player at BYU (1997-98, 2000) and Colorado (2001) before graduating from Utah Valley in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in English education. He is pursuing a master’s degree in physical education at Utah.
He and his wife Jenna have five children (Beck, Tate, Trey, Emma, and Dax). A native of Golden, Colo., Coy was born Feb. 11, 1979.
