Robert Conley, a former four-year starting right guard for the Utes, is in his third season as a Utah graduate assistant coach. After two years as an offensive line assistant, Conley is now working with the linebackers.
In his first two seasons, Conley helped develop second-team All-Pac-12 Conference offensive lineman Sam Brenner, along with honorable mention selections Jeremiah Poutasi, Tevita Stevens and Vyncent Jones. Brenner (Miami Dolphins) and Stevens (Washington Redskins) both went on to the NFL as undrafted free agents.
Conley spent the 2011 season as a graduate assistant offensive line coach at Utah State.
Before embarking on a coaching career, he was a first-team all-Mountain West Conference offensive lineman and third-team Rivals.com All-American for Utah's 2009 Sugar Bowl champion team. He was honorable mention all-MWC in 2006 and second team in 2007.
Conley received a bachelor's degree in economics from the U. in 2008 and is now pursuing a master's degree in sports management. The 28-year-old native of LaMarque, Texas, was born on April 17, 1986.
