Marie Marsman

Marie Marsman is in her third year on the University of Utah coaching staff and brings a wealth of experience in the pool to the Utes.
Marsman was a standout swimmer at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., becoming a seven-time NCAA Division III national champion. She finished her collegiate career with nine school records, including the 50-yard free, 100 free, the 100 butterfly and all five relays. She also holds the NCAA Division III records in both 50 free and the 100 free. Marsman also helped Carleton[apos]s water polo team qualify for the national championships in 2002. After college, she went on to compete at the 2003 World University Games, winning a silver medal as part of the United States 400-meter free relay team. In 2004, she qualified for two events at the Olympic Trials.
Marsman most recently finished up as a volunteer swim coach at Indiana University, where she was finishing up an M.S. degree in kinesiology with a concentration in applied sports science. While coaching at Indiana, she helped coach world record holders, World Champion finalists, NCAA Champions, and many national qualifiers in NCAA Division I. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor[apos]s degree in political science from Carleton College and has finished her M.S. degree in kinesiology from Indiana University.
