Taylor Evans begins his second season as a volunteer coach on the Utah coaching staff.
Evans joined the Ute program after a successful year as Junior Club Director with Utah Elite Volleyball Club in 2010. The club had two teams qualify for Junior Nationals in Reno, Nevada, the 18[apos]s and the 15[apos]s, the latter being coached by Evans and his wife Lauren.
Evans spent 2008-09 playing in the Austrian First Division for VBK Woerther-See Loewen. Before playing professionally, Evans spent two years as an assistant coach at American University, helping the Eagles to two Patriot League titles.
Evans played collegiately at BYU as an outside hitter, opposite and libero and was a member of the 2004 national championship team as a sophomore. He still holds the school single-match ace record with seven against USC in 2005.
Evans earned a degree in Economics from BYU, graduating in 2006. He is married to the former Lauren Richards. The couple has a daughter, Merit, who was born in June of 2010.
