HONOLULU - In their first tournament of the spring schedule, the University of Utah men's golf team placed 16th at the John Burns Invitational in Hawaii this week.
Junior Gregg Oliphant and senior Jon Morgan were the top Utah golfers at this three-day tournament. Oliphant shot a 219 finishing at 3 over par while Morgan finished three strokes back at 222. UNLV, the reigning NCAA champions, won the tournament beating the other 20 schools with a combined score of 832. Utah placed 14th in this tournament last year. Next up is the Aldila Collegiate Classic in San Diego, Calif., March 8-9.
