Men's Golf Finishes Third at Tournament

ALOHA, Ore. -- The University of Utah's men's golf team tied for third place at the Portland State Invitational on Tuesday. Utah State tied with the Utes for the third place spot. The top Utah golfers were senior Jon Morgan and sophomore Shawn Edwards.

Morgan shot a three round total of 221 finishing at 5 over par, while Edwards shot 222 at 6 over par placing them 10th and 12th respectively. Junior Greg Oliphant came in 17th shooting 224 at 8 over. Sophomore Brock Padilla shot a 227, 11 strokes over par placing 20th. Lance Richards was the 29th best golfer of the tournament shooting 229 at 13 over par.

The Utes will next participate in the CSU Ram Invitational in Fort Collins Co., with 36 holes being played on Monday Sept. 28th and 18 more holes on Sept. 29th.
