The Utah men's golf team finished in 11th place at the USD/Ashworth Invitational. The Utes shot a three round 916 as a team.
John Owen led Utah with a fifth place finish. Owen's three round total of 220 was good for six over par, only four shots off the lead. Jon Morgan also played well for the Utes, shooting a nine over par 225 for the tournament, placing him at 16th overall.
Other participants for the Utah included Shawn Edwards (52nd), Jim McGregor (75th) and Chris Riding (94th). UC Davis took the team championship by shooting a 893 as its Doug Sager won individual honors at 218 (+2).
