POCATELLO, Idaho - The University of Utah golf team placed third at the Bengal Invitational in Pocatello, Idaho after controlling the lead throughout the first two rounds. Sophomore Shawn Edwards led the team during the tournament. He was in third place after the first two rounds but placed fifth overall, shooting a 228 and finishing at 12 over par. Utah had four of their five players finish in the top 20. Junior Lance Richards placed 14th (232) followed by Jason Shepherd finishing 16th (233) and Brecken Varah placing 19th (234). Senior Jon Morgan finished in 24th place (235). Next up for Utah is the Western Athletic Conference Tournament May 4-6 in Monterey, California.
