Utah's month long spring camp will wrap up this week with a packed schedule. A practice date that was being saved in case of bad weather has been added to this week's schedule, bringing the total number of practices to the NCAA allowable 15 days. The Utes will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and hold their final scrimmage Friday-all at the McCarthey Practice Fields. Tuesday's and Thursday's practices will start at about 3 p.m., while Wednesday's drills will start at about 3:30 p.m. Friday's scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Utah will practice hard on Tuesday, back off a bit on Wednesday and hold a helmets-only practice on Thursday in preparation for Friday's scrimmage. The 80-play scrimmage will start at 3 p.m. It is open to the public and admission is free.

SPRING INJURIES
Among the players who will not participate in the final spring scrimmage are returning all-Mountain West honorees Steve Smith and Kautai Olevao. Smith, a receiver/returner cannot participate in contact drills while recovering from a fractured neck vertebrae suffered last November against Brigham Young. Olevao, a senior linebacker, had arthroscopic surgery on his knee on April 13. Starting offensive guard Sam White had his knee scoped on April 12 and will also miss the rest of spring ball. Starting defensive end Andy Bowers is sidelined with a broken jaw, incurred on April 7. All of the above are expected to be at full strength come fall.
SPRING NOTES
After two scrimmages, T.D. Croshaw has the numbers edge at quarterback, where he is co-starter with Darnell Arceneaux. Croshaw has completed 13 of 17 passes for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Arceneaux's numbers are 10 of 21 for 156 yards and 1 score ... Senior Johnny Lundy is Utah's leading receiver in two scrimmages to date. Lundy has 8 receptions for 139 yards and 1 TD ... At running back, D'Shaun Crockett's two-scrimmage totals: 9 carries for 76 yards and 1 TD ... Starting tight end Michael Richardson will start at right guard this week in place of the injured Sam White. Andy Kassotis and Matt Nickel are now co-starters at tight end ... Redshirt freshman Anthony White has moved into the two deep at strong safety, where he now backs up Arnold Parker ... Junior Lauvale Sape will miss this week's practices due to a sore knee.
MCBRIDE SAYS
"Last weekend the offense really came to life. Both offensive line groups and all the quarterbacks played well. Last Saturday was a very clean day for the offense. The offense had been getting pushed around by the defense so it was a positive. T.D. (Croshaw) had a really good day and Darnell (Arceneaux) did some good things. Right now I'd say Croshaw has a little bit of a lead ... This coming week we look for the defense to get back to its physical ways. I'd like to see the No. 1 offense and No. 1 defense have a great deal of success in the scrimmage Friday."
