The University of Utah men's tennis team will take to the road this week to face Arizona and Arizona State. The Utes will take on the Wildcats Friday, Feb. 5 in Tucson, Ariz. and will face the Sun Devils on Saturday in Tempe, Ariz.
LAST WEEK: The Utes dominated Utah State on Jan. 27, winning every doubles match and losing only one singles match. David Mercier, who played the No. 2 position for the Utes, came away with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 victory over USU's Jonah Nelson. Daniel Carlsson defeated Tim Burrell in three sets at the No. 3 position. Corrie Scheepers, Kevin Zenger, and Tyler Poulson each won their matches in straight sets. The Utes only defeat was in the No. 1 slot, where Nicholas Yip was defeated by Andy Madersbacher, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6.
COMING UP: After making the road trip to Arizona, the Utes will be back at home to host five consecutive matches. The Utes will play Idaho State on Feb. 14, followed by Weber State on Feb. 21 at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.
