PROVO, UTAH - The 66th-ranked University of Utah men's tennis squad earned their firstconference win of the season by defeating Air Force on Mar. 23. The win boosts Utah to 7-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The Utes swept each of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point and take the early lead. They proceeded to win four of six singles matches to come away with a 5-2 win over the Falcons.
Kevin Zenger and Nicholas Yip won their doubles match 8-5 and each won their singles matches from the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively. HREF="http://www.fansonly.com/schools/utah/sports/m-tennis/mtt/carlsson_daniel00.html">Daniel Carlsson won from the No. 4 position,while Corrie Scheepers won from the No. 5 slot to improve to 10-3 in dual play this season. Scheepers and Tyler Poulson's win in doubles improved their record 11-2 on the season.
The Utes will wrap up competition in Provo when they face New Mexico on Saturday at 1200 p.m.
