This Week
The Ute men's tennis team will continue their home stand against Robert Morris College on Web. March 6th, and the University of Denver on March 8th. Both matches will be held at the Sports Mall and will begin at 1:30 pm.
Last Match
The University of Utah downed St. Mary's College on Friday Feb. 22nd. With a final score of 6-1 the over St. Mary's, the Utes improved to 5-3 on the year and 3-3 on the road.
In singles competition, Corrie Scheepers defeated St. Mary's Frank Schmitt (7-6, 3-6, 6-2) at the number one position. At the number two, Nik Yip downed St. Mary's Arturo Planell (7-6, 7-6). St. Mary's Thomas Burgemeister beat Daniel Lohff (6-1, 6-2) at the three position. Daniel Carlsson beat St. Mary's Filip Sarovic (7-6, 6-3) at the four. Tyler Poulsen defeated St. Mary's J. J. Whitlinger (6-2, 2-6, 6-4) at the five and Tobias Tangberg downed St. Mary's Josh Farley (6-0, 6-1).
In doubles competition, Mercier/Yip beat St. Mary's Schmitt/Whitlinger (9-7), Poulsen/Carlsson defeated St. Mary's Burgemeister/Planell (9-7) and Scheepers/Englebrecht fell to St. Mary's Sarovic/Laubscher (8-5).
After This
The Utes will finish will kick off a two game road trip begining with the University of San Deigo on March 11th in San Deigo, Calif. They will then travel to Los Angeles, Calif. to take on USC on March 12th. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm. Pacific time
