Albuquerque, N. M. - The University of Utah men's tennis team bounced back from a close loss to the University of New Mexico with an impressive 6-1 victory over Air Force on Sat., Apr. 6. Utah moved to 12-8 on the year and 1-1 in the MWC. The Utes will play host to BYU on Apr. 11, San Diego State on Apr. 12 and UNLV on Apr. 13. All matches will be held and The Canyons' tennis center at 2:00 p.m.
In singles competition, Corrie Scheepers defeated The Falcons' Eric Pittman (6-3, 6-3) at the one position. AFA's Kyle Rainey beat Nik Yip (6-4, 7-6) at the two. Daniel Carlsson downed AFA's Chris Zielinski (7-6, 6-2) at the three. Tyler Poulson defeated AFA's Justin Mancinelli (6-3, 1-6, 6-3), Daniel Lohff beat AFA's Tyler McClung (2-6, 7-6, 6-3) and Tobais Tangberg downed The Falcons' Chris Dong (6-2, 6-4).
In doubles, Mercier/Yip downed AFA's Zielinski/Zielinski (8-6) at the one position. The Falcons' Pittman/McClung defeated Poulson/Carlsson (8-5) at the two and Scheepers/Lohff beat AFA's Rainey/Mancinelli (8-6) at the three.
