THIS WEEK: The University of Utah men's tennis team faces two non-conference opponents this week, as they host Idaho State on Wednesday, March 12 at 5:00 p.m at the Eccles Tennis Center,, and then travel to UC-Riverside on Sunday, March 16. The Riverside match will mark the first of four straigt road matches to California schools.
Scouting the Opposition: Idaho State is currently 3-6 on the season. UC-Riverside owns a a 2-6 record on the year. Both are members of the Big West Conference.
Reviewing Last Week: The Utes hosted the Denver Pioneers this last week and held on for a 4-3 win. Tyler Poulson had a strong outing for the Utes, has he took out Victor Zetterholm 7-6, 6-4 in no. three singles. Poulson also doubled with Nick Coutts for a 9-8 victory over Jason Tan and Hans Peter Gaber.
Quoting Assistant Coach Graeme Cox: "The team regained some confidence following our tight victory over Denver. We are hoping to be able to parlay this over into our match with Idaho State and go on our road trip to Southern California looking to pull off a couple of upsets."
