Thirty-four University of Utah football players received above a 3.0 GPA for spring semester. Nine players made the Dean's List and starters Matt Hansen and Morgan Scalley both earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
"I was thrilled that the players took our academic goals seriously," said new Ute Head Coach Urban Meyer, who was hired before the start of spring semester. "To have 40-percent of our team receive a 3.0 GPA or better shows a real commitment to academics."
Making the Dean's List were Hansen (4.0), Scalley (4.0), Brigham Au (3.94), Taylor Miller (3.88), Alex Smith (3.88), Tommy Hackenbruck (3.83), Spencer Toone (3.71), Zane Gertsch (3.61) and Curtis McEntire (3.50).
Other Utes above a 3.0 were: Brad Burtenshaw (4.0), Brooks Bahr (3.87), Max Petersen (3.47), Matt Kovacevich (3.45), Lance Rice (3.44), Brady Bahr (3.43), Casey Evans (3.43), Dymond Unutoa (3.43), Aaron Bryant (3.40), J.D. Jorgensen (3.40), Brandon Warfield (3.35), Mitch Arquette (3.32), Jeremy Lyman (3.30), Bo Nagahi (3.26), Ford Hall (3.25), Bryan Borreson (3.19), Zak Nugent (3.18), Stefan Turkula (3.17), Brett Elliott (3.13), Shaun Harper (3.12), Grady Marshall (3.10), Dave Revill (3.08), Jason Voss (3.08), Braden Cooper (3.07) and Mike Christensen (3.06).
