Kaufusi Continues To Rake In Preseason Honors

SALT LAKE CITY -
University of Utah senior defensive end Jason Kaufusi continues to garner preseason honors. Kaufusi, a two-time, first-team all-Mountain West Conference honoree, was recently named to his third "watch list", earned mention in an annual college football yearbook and was recognized as a preseason All-American by a prominent football web site.
Previously tabbed for the 2003 Bronko Nagurski and Rotary Lombardi Award watch lists, Kaufusi's latest citation is the 2003 Outland Trophy Watch List. The Outland Trophy, which goes to college football's top interior lineman, last year honored Ute offensive tackle Jordan Gross as one of its three finalists.
The Sporting News 2003 College Football Yearbook ranked Kaufusi as the No. 13 defensive end in the nation. TSN also named Ute senior safety Dave Revill as its No. 19 ranked strong safety.
NationalChamps.net, a website that focuses on NCAA Division I-A football, named Kaufusi to its honorable mention preseason All-America team.
