Two major football publications have cited Utes on their 2003 preseason all-Mountain West Conference teams. Athlon Sports has named running back Marty Johnson, defensive end Jason Kaufusi, defensive back Dave Revill and kick returner Bo Nagahi to its preseason team.
Phil Steele's College Football Preview chose Johnson, Kaufusi, Nagahi, offensive guard Chris Kemoeatu and cornerback Arnold Parker to the preseason all-Mountain West Conference first team. Nagahi, who made the first team as a kick returner, was also projected as a third-team defensive back. Making Phil Steele's second team was punt returner Morgan Scalley, while running back Brandon Warfield and defensive end Josh Savage joined Nagahi on the third team.
