SALT LAKE CITY -
The University of Utah football team has elected its captains for the 2003 season and they are: Jason Kaufusi, Dave Revill, Josh Savage, Ray Holdcraft and Thomas Herrion. All five are seniors.
Kaufusi is a two-time first-team all-Mountain West Conference defensive end. Revill was a second-team all-conference defensive back last fall and Savage was an honorable mention all-MWC defensive end. Holdcraft and Herrion, both junior college transfers last season, worked their way into starting roles and are expected to vie for all-league honors in 2003 at linebacker and offensive tackle, respectively.
"Other than getting married and having children, one of the greatest moments in life is when your team elects you captain," says first-year Ute Head Coach Urban Meyer. "We're going to lean on them and demand a lot from them as our team captains."
