SALT LAKE CITY -
Chris Kemoeatu, a senior offensive guard on the University of Utah football team, is one of 57 players selected to the 2004 Outland Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America announced today.
The 6-foot-4, 338-pound Hawaii native is a preseason all-conference and All-America candidate. A two-year starter for the Utes, Kemoeatu was named honorable mention all-Mountain West Conference in 2002-03.
The Outland Trophy is presented annually to the top interior lineman in college football on either side of the ball. Former Utah offensive tackle Jordan Gross was a 2002 Outland Trophy finalist and was the first offensive lineman taken in the 2003 NFL draft. Gross, picked No. 8 by Carolina, started for the Panthers in the 2004 Super Bowl.
