Steve Savoy Elects To Leave Early For NFL Draft

SALT LAKE CITY -
University of Utah officials learned today that sophomore wide receiver Steve Savoy has signed with an agent and will enter the NFL draft. Savoy, who registered for the spring semester and started classes on Monday, withdrew from the U. yesterday.
The first-team all-Mountain West Conference receiver was not available for comment. Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said, "Steve Savoy has determined that he wants to come out early and we wish him well. We were not anticipating this (at season's end) and we will certainly miss him because he is a fine receiver, but we are recruiting a strong group of receivers so we're not panicking." National Letter of Intent day is February 2.
