THIS WEEK: The University of Utah men's tennis team returns home this week with matches against No. 65 Denver and No. 69 Colorado. The Utes face off against Denver on Sat., Feb. 26 and Colorado on Sun., Feb. 27 at the Eccles Tennis Center.
REVIEWING LAST WEEK: Utah hit the road for the first time this season. The men's tennis team earned wins over Santa Clara (5-1) and St. Mary's (5-0) over the weekend in California. The scheduled match against San Francisco was not played due to rain.
Ute duo of sophomore Miron Mann and Zach Ganger picked up a win at the No. 1 doubles spot. They improved their overall record to 11-1 and broke into the ITA national polls with a No. 34 ranking.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Denver has a 6-2 mark on the non-conference season. The Pioneers only losses have come to No. 70 UNLV and No. 65 Colorado.
The Colorado Buffaloes are 3-2 in the season, with losses to No. 1 Baylor University and No. 44 Boise State.
Last week was an off week for both teams.
QUOTING ASSISTANT COACH Graeme Cox. "The team had an excellent road trip coming away from San Francisco with two wins in very difficult conditions. They cranked up their intensity for these matches and did an excellent job getting ready to play."
"Hopefully we will be able to use the confidence gained from these matches to perform well against Denver and Colorado this weekend. Both of these teams are tough regional opponents who we will have to play well to beat."
