SALT LAKE CITY - Chris Jackson of the University of Utah men's basketball team has been named a 2004-05 Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete Award winner.
To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at the certifying institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have completed in at least one varsity contest in their respective sport.
Jackson, a junior center from Los Alamos, N.M., has a 3.68 GPA in chemical fuels in engineering.
