The Utah football team's preseason camp will be open to the public, head coach Kyle Whittingham announced today. Preseason practices will be held at Ute Baseball Field. Whittingham and his staff have also decided to open regular season practices to the public. Some scrimmages may be closed.
Camp starts Friday, Aug. 5, with the newcomers practicing from 10:10-11:40 a.m. and the veterans taking the field from 4:05-5:55 p.m. On Saturday, the players who are on the first and third string in the preseason depth chart will practice from 9:40-11:30 a.m., while the "two's" and "fours" will go from 3:40-5:30 p.m.
The same format will be followed when camp resumes on Monday, Aug. 8 and the two groups will join together for practice starting on Tuesday, Aug. 9. The first day in full pads will be Aug. 10. Double day practices will be held every other day beginning on Thursday, Aug. 11 (9:10-10:40 a.m. and 3:50-5:30 p.m.). Camp concludes on Aug. 23.
